There are total 60 T20 matches to be played in IPL 2021. Due to the ICC tight schedule BCC advanced IPL 2021 to 1 week and IPL 2021 is now starting from 9 April and it will finish by 30 May. You should must know that the BCCI decided also to increase overseas players’ limit from 4 to 5 from IPL 2021.

IPL 2021 Auction
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic IPL 2020 started late 19 September and completed on10 November 2020. BCCI can’t delay IPL 2021 much as T20 World cup 2021 is also hosted by India in October 2021. There is not enough time to organize IPL 2021 mega Auction before IPL 2021. IPL 2021 Auction date 18 February 2021.
BCCI plans to auction two new IPL teams in May 2021
IPL 2021 Format
In IPL 2021 there are 8 team participation. This is a 20 over cricket league match from the white ball. In the league matches each team will play with the rest of the seven team two times. There will be eliminator and final matches. As a result, there will be total 60 matched in the entire tournament.

IPL Governing Council (IGC) was planning to add 2 more IPL team before IPL 2021 auction, but now as BCCI decided you will see 10 teams playing in IPL 2022. In case 2 more new teams added numbers of league match will increase. Also Overseas player’s quota rule increase from 4 to 5 in IPL 2021.
