Corrections Policy
At ICC Cricket Schedule, accuracy is fundamental to our journalism. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently. This policy outlines how we handle corrections and maintain the trust of our readers.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
We strive for accuracy in all our cricket coverage. Every article goes through editorial review before publication, and we verify facts from multiple sources. However, mistakes can happen, and when they do, we take responsibility.
Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
Spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, or minor factual errors (such as incorrect dates or statistics) are corrected directly in the article without a formal correction notice, unless the error significantly affected the meaning of the content.
Significant Corrections
When an error materially affects the accuracy or meaning of an article, we:
- Correct the error in the article
- Add a correction notice at the top of the article
- Note what was changed and when
- Preserve the original text in the correction notice when relevant
Retractions
In rare cases where an article contains fundamental errors that cannot be corrected, or where the article should not have been published, we will:
- Remove or unpublish the article
- Publish a retraction notice explaining what happened
- Notify readers who may have shared the content
Correction Notice Format
Our correction notices include:
- The date of the correction
- A clear description of what was incorrect
- The corrected information
- An apology when appropriate
Example:
Correction (December 27, 2024): An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Virat Kohli scored 150 runs in the match. He scored 100 runs. We regret the error.
