A source close to the Times of India claimed Shreyas Iyer’s injury isn’t looking good and he is in danger of missing the first few games of the IPL 2024. He added:

“It’s not looking good. It’s the same back injury that has been aggravated. It’s unlikely that he (Iyer) will take the field on Day 5 of the Ranji Trophy final. He is in danger of missing the initial matches of the IPL.”

Shreyas Iyer has been facing issues in his back since last year. Underwent surgery for the same last year and missed IPL 2023 due to the same reasons. He played a massive role for India in the ICC World Cup 2023 and it was expected that he would play in the IPL 2024 as well.

Him missing the IPL 2024 will be a massive blow for the KKR. Not only they will lose the quality but they will miss the services of the skipper as well. The team management would be hoping that the batter gets fit as soon as possible and take the field in the tournament.
