IPL 2026 points table after LSG vs KKR, match 38: KKR wins SUPER OVER over LSG to register a thrilling win

Kolkata Knight Riders registered their second win of IPL 2026 as they registered a terrific win over Lucknow Super Giants. They won the game in a Super over at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday. Put into bat, Kolkata managed 155 for seven, in response, Lucknow scored 155 for eight. The game moved into a super over, where Kolkata chased with ease.

KKR had a disastrous start to their innings as they lost their four batters in no time with scoreboard reeling at 31 for four. However, Cameron Green (34) along with Rinku Singh (83*) brought Kolkata back in their game with their 42-run stand for the fifth wicket.

After Green got out, it was Singh, who took the centre stage and played a brilliant innings. He single-handedly carried the team’s batting and slammed a brilliant half-century. He hit four sixes in the last over that took Kolkata to a total of 155 for seven.

Lucknow lost Mitchell Marsh early, but Aiden Markram (31) and Rishabh Pant (42) steadied the ship and batted brilliantly for their 57-run partnership. Kolkata made a terrific comeback after that, taking wickets at regular intervals.

From 78 for two, Lucknow were reduced to 129 for seven. The game went down to the last over with Lucknow needing 17 runs. Kartik Tyagi had a forgettable outing as he bowled two balls but still made a decent comeback.

There was a twist in the tale when Lucknow needed seven runs off the last ball and it was Mohammed Shami, who hit a six to take his team to a super over.

In the super over, Lucknow batted first and had a poor outing. They managed just one run, which Kolkata chased on the first ball.
