Vivo IPL 2021: Defending champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday revealed their official jersey for the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. The new jersey of Mumbai Indians has been designed by renowned fashion designers Nikhil and Shantanu.
The five-time champions will play their first game of the tournament against Royal Challengers Bangalore which will be the opener of the Indian T20 Tournament. The series opener will be played on 09th April in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Coming back to Mumbai Indians 2021 jersey, it is designed by taking in mind the five components of the Universe i.e., Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Sky.
Mumbai Indians spokesperson explained the jersey and said, “Mumbai Indians has carried forward a legacy every year, built on our core values and ideologies. Our five IPL titles are testament to our commitment to these values and it is extremely fulfilling that we have been able to signify it through our jersey this year.”
The jersey’s of every single franchise tells a story about how they have progressed. Every element in the jersey has some meaning beneath it.
Mumbai Indians also released a video of the jersey designed this season on all their social media handles. Also the replica jersey is also available for the fans.

This season we decided to wear the elements of our DNA on our jersey, which has enabled us to become the most successful sports club in the country. We shall wear the pride of our Paltan whenever we step out in this jersey.”

The jersey is representing Earth – stability, structure and balance; Water – fluidity and purity; Air – compassion; Fire – confidence, power; Space – expansion and knowledge in its design value,” said Nikhil Mehra, CFO and Co-founder Maison Shantanu and Nikhil.
