GT vs MI took place in Gujarat.
After four back-to-back losses, the Mumbai Indians made a dominant comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. They defeated the Gujarat Titans by 99 runs at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. Put into bat, Mumbai posted a big total of 199 for five, and then ended Gujarat’s innings on 100.
Mumbai yet again had a poor start to their innings. They lost three wickets in the power play and were left at 44 for three. Naman Dhir (45) looked positive and played a decent hand, adding a crucial 52-run stand with Tilak Varma (101*).
Varma was the hero of the innings for Mumbai as he played a blinder and paced his innings sensationally well. He was 19 off 22 balls at one stage and then ended up hitting a century in 45 balls. Thanks to their magical hundred, Mumbai posted a total of 199 for five.
The wait for Jasprit Bumrah’s first wicket in IPL 2026 finally ended as he removed Sai Sudharsan on the first ball of Gujarat’s chase. Then after that, wickets fell like a pack of cards for Gujarat as Mumbai bowlers were pretty disciplined with their lines and lengths.
Washington Sundar (26) was the only batter who managed over 20 runs. Ashwani Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with his four-fer as Mumbai bundled out Gujarat for 100 to win the clash by 99 runs.
