IPL 2026 points table after MI vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru THRASH Mumba Indians by 18 runs

Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered their third win of the Indian Premier League, making a comeback after a loss to Rajasthan Royals. They defeated the Mumbai Indians by 18 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Put into bat, Bengaluru posted a total of 240 for four, in response, Mumbai managed 222 for five.

Bengaluru were off to a flying start with the bat as Phil Salt (78) was at his brutal best. His partner Virat Kohli (50) looked sluggish but still managed to support Salt as the two together added 120 runs for the opening stand.

Captain Rajat Patidar (53) promoted himself to three and hit a quick half-century to keep the momentum going. He added 65-run stand with Kohli as Mumbai bowlers seemed to have answers to the carnage.

Tim David (34*) finished the innings on a high as Mumbai posted a total of 240 for four.

MI vs RCB: Mumbai Indians batters fail to chase target

Mumbai were quickly off the blocks as well with Ryan Rickelton (37) and Rohit Sharma (19 retd hurt) adding 57 runs in just 32 balls. Mumbai faced a massive blow when Sharma faced a hamstring injury and walked off the field.

Suryakumar Yadav (33) and Hardik Pandya (40tried to keep the momentum going but lost their wickets at crucial phases. Bengaluru then took command of the match and reduced Mumbai to 154 for five.

Sherfane Rutherford fought hard and slammed a 26-ball half-century. However, it wasn’t enough as Bengaluru restricted Mumbai to 222 for five to win the game by 18 runs.
