ICC World Cup Super League: England tops the World Cup Super League table, India ranks third last.

World Cup Super League Points Table: After a complete fightback from the visitors to save the three games ODI series in the second ODI, England have topped the World Cup Super League points table. A convincing win by six wickets in the penultimate ODI sends England to the top of the Super League.

Proving why England are the number one ODI side in the world, the English cricketers settled the total in mere 44 overs. Jonny Bairstow remained the top scorer with 124 runs while Ben Stokes fell one short of his century. Opener Jason Roy also completed his half-century to give England a perfect start.

Talking about the World Cup Super League points table, the Indian team ranks eighth on the list with 2 wins and three losses in the five ODI games. Virat Kohli and Co. will have the opportunity to jump over Pakistan if they manage to win the last game of the ODI series.

England and Australia have levelled points while the net run rate of the former is better to put them at number 1.

What exactly is World Cup Super League?

The points table of the World Cup Super League will decide whether which team will take part in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. The tournament will be hosted by India and thus will get leverage to play the World Cup irrespective of the World Cup Super League points table rank. However, besides India, only seven other top teams will qualify for the World Cup 2023.

The bottom five teams in the points table will have a qualifying round and the top teams from this round will also feature in the World Cup 2023.

All the teams will get 24 ODIs to play before the World Cup in the one cycle. For an ODI game win, teams are awarded 10 points, 5 points for tie/no result/abandonment while zero for a loss.

According to International Cricket Council (ICC), 13 nations will be taking part in the World Cup Super League with 12 full member nation along with the Netherlands as the 13th nation.
