IPL 2023 Auction: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Retained Players 2023 List, Released Player, Traded Players: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has already made a few aggressive moves before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Auction. The franchise has traded a couple of players, thereby adding a little more spicey element to its squad for the next edition of the Indian T20 League.

The last season of the tournament didn’t end well for the two times IPL winners, in fact, it turned out to be a nightmare for all perennial champions. KKR wrapped its campaign in the seventh position with six victories and eight losses. 

Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, KKR managed well to start its run in the IPL 2022 with a victory against CSK, but following that triumph, it was a kind of on-and-off outing for the team in purple. 

However, the upcoming season for KKR would be to make sensible decisions and script a memorable comeback. An interesting fact to note here is that KKR back in 2013 under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy finished in the seventh position and in the subsequent season they were crowned as the champions of the lucrative league.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders management has played it quite nicely to grab a few amazing players in the early trade. The likes of Shardul Thaur, Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have been brought into the team for the next season.

• Australian pacer Pat Cummins is likely to pull off from the IPL 2023 to focus on the Ashes 2023. He was bought by KKR in IPL 2020 auction by shelling out a whopping INR 15.50 crore.
• Sam Billings is also set to miss the next season of the IPL to feature in county cricket.

KKR has bought Lokie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz in a trade with Gujarat Titans (GT). The franchise has also got hold of all-rounder Shardul Thakur from Delhi Capitals (DC) for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
