Zaheer Khan picks his Indian pace attack for T20 World Cup 2024; names Mohammed Shami X factor 

The T20 World Cup 2024 is just a few months away from. The tournament will be played in the month of June from 1st to 29th in the United States of America and the Caribbean. As many as 20 teams will take part in the tournament and it promises to be an expecting event. 

One of the favourites heading into the T20 World Cup 2024 will be the Indian Cricket Team. The Men in Blue are desperate for the title win and it won’t be a surprise if they end up winning one this time around. However, there are a lot of speculations about what will the team that they will field. 

For them to fancy their chances of winning the T20 World Cup 2024, the team needs to have good fast bowlers in the ranks. It’s fair to say that bowlers will be the key for any team in the tournament as they no doubt will help them to win the event. 

India since the last few years have provided opportunities to a lot of youngsters in the T20I squad. However, the faith had paid off. Therefore it won’t be a surprise if the seniors in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami will be back for the team in the tournament.

Zaheer Khan feels Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will no doubt be there. He believes that India will back Arshdeep Singh in the squad because of the left-arm variety and his ability to bowl in death. 

The former Indian pacer also said that Mohammed Shami could be an X factor for India and said that he feels the team will go with these four pacers in the squad. Speaking on Colours Cineplex, he added:  

“I feel you will see (Jasprit) Bumrah and (Mohammed) Siraj for sure. After that, Arshdeep (Singh), you will get a slight variation because he is a left-arm. He bowls good yorkers. So that is an added advantage.”

“Then I believe (Mohammed) Shami because if he is fit and available, he can be an X-factor option for you during the World Cup. So, I will pick these four pacers because four pacers should go for sure.”
