First team to Win Three T20 World Cup Titles

One of the biggest achievements for the Indian National Cricket Team was becoming the first team to win three T20 World Cup titles. Previously, India won the tournament in 2007 and 2024, and with this victory, they now have the most titles by any team.

England and the West Indies have won the tournament twice, but now, India has moved ahead with three titles. It has been a fantastic tournament for the Indian Team as they played exceptional cricket with both bat and ball. Interestingly, almost every player of the Indian team has played a crucial role in some of the matches of the tournament.

First Team to Successfully Defend the T20 World Cup

India also became the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title. Before the 2026 T20 World Cup, no defending champions had managed to win the trophy again, but after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup, India managed to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 as well.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 was co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, and India made history by becoming the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on their home soil.

Another historic milestone for India was winning consecutive T20 World Cup titles. By winning the trophy in 2024 and 2026, the Indian National Cricket Team became the first to achieve this feat in the history of the tournament.

Indian batters played exceptional cricket and were extremely aggressive throughout the tournament. India has smashed a total of 106 sixes, which is the highest number of sixes by any team in a single edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

First Team to score 250+ in Consecutive T20Is

India became the first team in the Men’s T20 International cricket to score 250+ runs in consecutive matches. Firstly, India scored 253/7 against England in the Semi-Final and then, they scored 255/5 against New Zealand in the Final.
