The Indian Cricket Team successfully defended their T20 World Cup title as they beat New Zealand in the final of the 2026 edition. This was their third T20 World Cup title, having won in 2007, 2024 and 2026.
After winning the T20 World Cup 2026, India played a brilliant brand of cricket and didn’t even lose a single series. The same confidence was reflected in the T20 World Cup 2026 as they went on to win the title under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.
India won all four of their four games in the group stage of the tournament. But, after that, they lost against South Africa in super 8 stage. This saw them changing their combination as they won the title under Gautam Gambhir, who faced a lot of criticism.

As the T20 World Cup 2026 got over, the focus now is on when will India play the next match. However, for two months, India won’t be seen in action as the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be there, starting March 28.
The next time India will be seen in action will be in June when they will lock horns with Afghanistan. They will be playing a one-off Test and the three-match ODI series.
