T20 World Cup 2026 Awards

After defeating New Zealand by 96 runs, the India National Cricket Team won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this, India created history in International Cricket as they became the first team to win three T20 World Cup titles. India played exceptional cricket throughout the tournament under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.

India played a dominating cricket match against New Zealand in the 2026 T20 World Cup Final; they batted well and successfully defended the target of 256 runs. India was also the winner of the 2024 T20 World Cup, and now, they are the winners of the 2026 T20 World Cup. With this milestone, they became the first team to win back-to-back T20 World Cup trophies.

Sanju Samson won the player of the tournament award as he scored 321 runs in just five innings at an impressive average of 80.25 with a strike rate close to 200. Sanju played some of the crucial knocks in the important matches. He scored 97 off 50 balls against West Indies in Super 8, then 89 off 46 balls against England in the Semi-Final, and 89 off 46 balls against New Zealand in the Final.

With this, Sanju Samson also broke the record of Virat Kohli for the most runs by an Indian batter in a single T20 World Cup edition. He also smashed a record 24 sixes, which is the most by any batter in the T20 World Cup 2026. Sanju made a strong comeback in the Indian Team after a series of flop shows in the past year.
