Schedule and Venues for IPL 2022 playoffs announced by the BCCI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the schedules and venues for the playoffs of the ongoing Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen. Moreover, the BCCI has also planned to increase the crowd capacity for the all-important knockout matches.

As per the announced schedules, Kolkata’s Eden Gardens will host the first IPL 2022 playoff and eliminator on May 24th and 25th respectively. While the second playoff and the final of the Tata IPL 2022 will be staged at the newly revamped Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 27 and 29 respectively.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President, Sourav Ganguly further confirmed that the playoffs of the Tata IPL 2022 will be held with 100 per cent crowd capacity.

Notably, this will be the first time since the covid emerged and wreaked havoc, that the BCCI will be allowing a 100 per cent crowd capacity to enter the stadium and enjoy live cricket matches. 

“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred per cent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22,” said Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President a couple of weeks earlier.

Moreover, the apex body also confirmed the dates for the upcoming Women’s Challenger T20 series. The Women’s T20 Challenge will be played in Pune from May 23rd to 28th.

IPL 2022: Match 48 – GT vs PBKS

We are already halfway through the tournament. 47 league stage matches have been wrapped and the playoff qualification has begun, with Gujarat Titans (GT) leading the race. 

In match number 48 of the elite T20 tournament, Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans are facing Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings. GT have won the toss and have opted to bat first at the DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.
