Ravi Shastri & Suresh Raina to do commentary in the Tata IPL 2022: Reports: Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri and former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina are all set to be a part of the commentary team for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The reports have claimed that both the above mentioned will be seen holding the mic for the fifteenth edition of the cash-rich tournament.

Raina, former CSK cricketer, will not be a part of IPL 2022 as a player as he went unsold during the mega auction, held in February. The cricketer was also not picked as a replacement in any team, despite a couple of players pulling out of the T20 tournament.

Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri is all set to reignite his commentary career with the luxurious IPL 2022. He left team India’s coaching duties after completing his second term in 2021. Shastri was also approached by a couple of IPL teams for coaching roles, however, the deal didn’t go to any successful positive result.

As per the reports, both Suresh Raina and Ravi Shastri will be a part of the Hindi commentary team. It will be a new role for Shastri as he has often commentated in English post his cricket retirement.

“You all know that Raina won’t be a part of the IPL this time but we somehow wanted to link him with the tournament. He has a massive fan following and there is a reason why he is known as Mr IPL. As for Shastri, he was part of Star Sports English commentary team. But he didn’t commentate after the final of Champions Trophy in 2017 as he became India’s head coach,” an IPL source said while speaking to Jagran.

Although we have heard Shastri talk a lot in English, it will be interesting to catch him with Hindi commentary. Shastri’s way of portraying a story in English is absolutely magnificent, but for him to speak in the mic in Hindi will be a challenge, and the fans would be curious to hear him with his unique style.

If reports are to be believed, Ravi Shastri is taking a Hindi class in zoom from an expert to fine-tune his language.
