List of 16 Umpires officiating in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, Indian Nitin Menon included: Indian veteran umpire Nitin Menon is named among the 16 ICC Elite Panel Umpires who will officiate in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Menon has already reached Down Under for the mega cricketing event.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) have shortlisted 20 umpires to take charge of the First Round and the subsequent Super 12 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
The ICC released a statement added that the same group of 16 experienced umpires have been named who officiated in the 2021 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 Wrld Cup 2022.
“In total, 16 umpires will officiate across the tournament with Richard Kettleborough, Nitin Menon, Kumara Dharmasena and Marais Erasmus having been the umpires in charge of the 2021 final which saw this year’s hosts claim their first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title,” the ICC said in a statement.
“It is an experienced group of umpires, with the same 16 selected as last year’s tournament which was held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.”
A quartet of match referees for the eighth edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 includes Sri Lankan Ranjan Madugalle, Australian David Boon, English Christopher Broad and Zimbabwe’s Andrew Pycroft.
The T20 World Cup 2022 is set to begin on 16th October, the match between Sri Lanka and Namibia at Geelong that will be officiated by Joel Wilson and Rodney Tucker while Andrew Pycroft will be the match referee.
