<h2><strong>Which country is hosting ICC T20 World Cup 2022?</strong></h2>



<p>Australia were supposed to host the 2020 edition?s T20 World Cup tournament, however, the challenges posed by the unprecedented rise in the Covid cases across the globe forced the officials to postpone the tournament. Later, ICC decided to schedule it for 2022 and the eighth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will be hosted by Australia.</p>



<h2><strong>Teams Participating in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022:</strong></h2>



<p>A total of 16 teams will participate in the T20 World Cup 2022 edition. The top eight ranked ICC teams will be the direct qualifiers for the Super12s while the remaining eight will have to play out the Round 1 qualifiers in order to make their place in the four left spots in Super12s.</p>



<p><strong>Automatic eight qualifiers for the T20 World Cup 2022:</strong></p>



<p>India, England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.</p>



<p>Unfortunately, West Indies and Sri Lanka will have to take part in the Round 1 qualifiers in order to qualify for the Super12s.</p>

<p>The showpiece tournament in Australia is slated to begin on October 16 while the final is scheduled to be played on November 13. As many as 45 matches will be held in the entire tournament including the knockouts.</p>

<p><strong>T20 World Cup 2022 Final: </strong>In an exciting development from the field of cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday, has confirmed that the final of the next ICC T20 World Cup will be played under the lights of Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 13.</p>



<p>The T20 World Cup 2020 was initially scheduled to take place Down Under, however, the challenges posed by the unprecedented rise in covid-19 cases all across the globe forced the officials to postpone the tournament for two years. ICC later confirmed that the tournament will be scheduled in 2022 in Australia.</p>



<p>Australia wins the recent ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and now they will look forward to defending their title in their own backyard. The Aussie gave a drubbing to the Kiwis in the final of T20 World Cup 2021 to win their first-ever T20 World Cup title.</p>

<p>The tournament begins with the final of the last edition of the ICC T20 World Cup. Australia takes on New Zealand at the SCG on the 22<sup>nd</sup> of October. <p>ICC recently released the full schedule of the 2022 T20 World Cup that is set to take place in Australia. The tournament will start on 16th October and the final will be played on 13th November. The 2022 T20 World Cup will be special for two reasons - firstly because the number of teams participating has been increased from 12 to 16. And secondly because two T20 World Cups being held in successive years is a pretty rare feat.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The 2022 World Cup will be the 8th edition of the T20 World Cup. West Indies (twice), England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia have all lifted the prestigious trophy so far and it is time to see who will win it in the upcoming edition.&nbsp;</p>
