IPL 2023: KKR won against CSK by six wickets. Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana led KKR to victory as they built an important partnership and Both has scored 54 and 57 runs, respectively. Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy took two wickets and stopped CSK at 144 runs.
Chennai Super Kings lost this match because of their decent performance with both bat and ball. Firstly they scored only 144 runs in the first inning, which is quite a chasable target in Chidambaram stadium, and secondly, CSK bowlers couldn’t turn the match in their favour in the middle overs. Deepak Chahar was the only bowler who took wickets in this match.
KKR batters easily chased the target:
In the Second Inning, Kolkata lost some early wickets as Jason Roy, Gurbaz, and Iyer got out in the powerplay, but skipper Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh both stood on the pitch and made an important partnership for the 4th wicket. They keep rotating the strike while taking single and double rather than hitting unnecessary boundaries on this tough and slow wicket.
Nitish has scored 57 runs in 44 balls with six fours, whereas Rinku Singh has scored 54 runs in 43 balls with four fours and three sixes, and hence KKR easily won the match against CSK.
Deepak Chahar was the only wicket-taker:
An unexpected performance came from Chennai Super Kings in this match, as their bowlers couldn’t break one partnership. However, they had bowled well in the powerplay, but in the middle overs, they lost the game’s momentum and failed to take wickets.
Deepak Chahar was the only wicket Taker from the CSK side in this match as he has taken three wickets, whereas the Rest of the other bowlers had a performed badly.
CSK’s gave a decent target of 145 runs:
In the First Inning, Devon Conway and Ruturaj came to open for CSK, and both of them are playing calmly and scoring runs with a decent strike rate. Ruturaj got out in the 4th over and scored only 17 runs, whereas After a few overs, Ajinkya Rahane got out by scoring 16 runs in 11 balls, and then CSK lost back-to-back three wickets.
Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja made a crucial partnership of 78 runs for the 6th wicket. Shivam Dube played a responsible inning for his team and scored 48 runs in 34 balls with three sixes, whereas Ravindra Jadeja made 20 runs.
A Commendable bowling by KKR:
Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers have an impressive performance after the bad performance against Rajasthan Royals. Varun Chakaravarthy got two wickets and bowls at an economy rate of 9.00, whereas Sunil Narine made a nice comeback as he took two important wickets in this match and gave only 15 runs. Vaibhav and Shardul have taken one wicket only.
