IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap – Updated on April 12: Kane Williamson led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) got better of Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans (GT), yesterday, in match number 20 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. SRH not only registered its second win of the season but also hindered Gujarat’s unbeaten run in the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the toss, and just like any other side, opted to field first. Gujarat couldn’t get an ideal start to their outing in the DY Patil Stadium as both the openers were dismissed cheaply by the SRH pacers.

Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Hardik Pandya played a sensible 42 balls 50 runs knock despite wickets continuously falling from the other end. In the end, young Abhinav Manohar tried freeing his long levers and scored 35 runs from 21 balls with the help of five boundaries and a six.

Owing to valiant efforts from Hardik Pandya and his mates, Gujarat Titans (GT) managed to put up a total of 162 runs in the quota of 20 overs.

In pursuit of a modest total, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) openers gave a steady start. Young Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson stitched 64 runs before the fall of the opening wicket. The experience of Kane Williamson went on to score a match-winning half-century (57 runs off 46 balls) and took his side closer to the total.

Meanwhile, to finish things off in Hyderabad’s favour, Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram put their feet on the accelerator and chased the total with five balls to spare.
