The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 kickstarted last week on a dominating note. But it’s fair to say that League is missing their biggest superstar in Rishabh Pant. The keeper-batter has been ruled out of the tournament due to a tragic accident he suffered in December 2022. The DC skipper is nursing a couple of injuries and is likely to return to action after a few months. However, DC is trying every way possible to involve Pant with the team.

In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in PTI, it is learned that Rishabh Pant will be there at the Arun Jaitely Stadium to support Delhi Capitals for their clash against Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023. This will be the first time the keeper-batter will enter the cricket field in 4 months.

Rishabh Pant suffered a horrific accident in December last year, which ruled him out of cricketing action for more than 6-7 months including the IPL. In his place, Delhi Capitals named David Warner as their skipper and also named Abhishek Poral as the replacement.

Delhi Capitals did a heartwarming gesture towards Rishabh Pant in their first game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) when they hung the jersey of Rishabh Pant in their dugout. Their gesture was lauded by many and also the keeper-batter wished them luck for the game.

Apart from the reports that suggested that Pant will be in the stadium to support his team, another report in the PTI has suggested that Delhi Capitals will be wearing the jersey of Rishabh Pant in one of their games.

It wasn’t a fruitful start for Delhi Capitals to the IPL 2023 as they suffered a massive 50-run loss at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). It’s fair to say that they lacked a quality middle-order batter and had Rishabh Pant been there it might have been a different story.

In their first match against LSG, they bowled, batted and fielded poorly. Opting for the ball, they conceded many runs and also dropped catches as well. Based on poor fielding and bowling, they conceded 193 runs. But they looked clueless against the pace of Mark Wood. Skipper David Warner scored a half-century but wasn’t at his fluent best. They struggled to get going and managed only 143 runs, losing the game by 50 runs.
