WPL 2026 Qualification Scenarios: After RCB, Who Can Still Qualify for Playoffs?
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 is moving towards its business end, with just a few league-stage matches remaining. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have already confirmed their place in the WPL 2026 Final, but four teams are still competing for the remaining two spots.
After a dominating performance against UP Warriorz, RCB booked their spot for the WPL 2206 Final and became the first team to qualify for the Playoffs. Grace Haris gave an exceptional performance with both bat and ball; she scored 75 runs off just 37 balls and also took two wickets.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Giants (GG) currently have the highest chance to get second and third spot after the league-stage matches. But, Delhi Capitals is also in the Playoffs race, and if they win their last league-stage match against UP Warriorz, they will qualify for the WPL 2026 Eliminator.
On the other hand, the team winning the MI vs GG match will secure their spot in the Playoffs, while others have to wait for the DC vs UPW. UP Warriors are almost out of the tournament, and the chances are quite low as they have to win the match against DC with a good margin, and also the Mumbai Indians need to lose their match with a heavy margin.
So, it’s unlikely to happen as the Mumbai Indians (MI) have plenty of quality players, and they played exceptional cricket in the last match. RCB is the only team in the Women’s Premier League 2026 that has played dominating cricket against all the teams, and their chances are pretty good to lift the trophy for the second time.

Gujarat Giants in Strong Position
Gujarat Giants have increased their qualification chances after a thrilling win against Delhi Capitals. Gujarat, with eight points are now in quite a comfortable situation amongs other teams. However, their poor net run rate (-0.271) might put them in trouble if MI defeat them and Delhi Capitals win the match against UP Warriorz.
Mumbai Indians have an NRR advantage.
The defending champions Mumbai Indians, are in quite a decent position despite having only six points. They have the best net run rate (+0.146) among the teams fighting for the Playoffs. If Mumbai defeats Gujarat, they will confirm their spot, while if they lose, then it all depends on the DC vs UPW match.
If Delhi Capitals win, then they will replace Mumbai for the third spot, while if they lose then Mumbai Indians will end the league-stage in 3rd position.
Delhi Capitals are in a Do-or-Die Situation
Delhi Capitals are dependent on themselves for their Qualifications, all they need is a victory against UP Warriorz, and they will book their spot in the WPL 2026 Eliminator.
