Sri Lanka has undoubtedly been one of the most improved cricketing nations all across the globe in the recent past. The team has displayed tremendous characteristic performances banking on quality displays from all the departments of the game. The newly appointed captain, Dasun Shanaka has achieved a handful of good results in terms of taking the team forward as a unit.
The Lankan team however hasn’t been able to achieve the desired results in any of the T20I series that it has played so far this year. The team had to face disappointment in form of a 1-3 defeat to Australia in a 5-match T20I series which was followed by another major humiliation in hands of India who demolished them 3-0.
The team lost its third consecutive series this year when it failed to resist the Aussies once again this time in their own backyard and lost 1-2. The team has to work out their plans properly in order to turn things around in the Asia Cup 2022 which is to begin soon.
