They also have a good set of youngsters in the form of Tilak Varma. Talking about the foreign batters, there are not many big names. But there are many exciting names. The likes of Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Tim David, and Cameron Green can win games in a matter of a few overs. If Jofra and Bumrah, both are available, then the Mumbai Indians could be called one of the greatest T20 teams ever assembled!
Weakness of the Mumbai Indians:
This is a weakness but the Mumbai Indians lack an established spinner. They have a waning Piyush Chawla and a blooming Kumar Kartikeya. Kumar Kartikeya had a great time with the ball last season, he has had a great 2022 domestic season as well, but, he can struggle at the grand stage. Piyush Chawla has a great skill set and he is aging like fine wine, but does he still have what it takes? They should have gone behind Zampa or Adil Rashid to fill this void. Even Mujeeb would have been a good option.

The opportunities are for Rohit Sharma and Cameron Green. Green has a huge price tag associated with it and the media has tagged him as over-priced. But the TATA IPL 2023 gives him an opportunity to shun the noise. He can take it as a challenge and crush criticism. Rohit Sharma has an opportunity to get back into form and show that he still has the captaincy firepower left in him. Post getting named the Indian captain, the results at the big stages have not been in his favor. TATA IPL 2023 can be his season of resurgence.
Threats to the Mumbai Indians in TATA IPL 2023:
The threat is the absence of both Jofra and Bumrah. Jasprit Bumrah cannot be rushed to fitness as he is the Indian cricket team’s biggest asset. The same is the case with Jofra Archer. The England cricket team will preserve him for the ODI World Cup 2023. So, if both the national panels instruct the Mumbai management to rest these players, the Mumbai camp will be bound to listen. Jasprit is yet to come back to professional cricket. The other threat is the absence of a seasoned spinner.
