T20 World Cup 2022 Points Table – Updated Team Rankings after ENGvsNZ Match: England captain Jos Buttler’s 73 runs innings followed by a supreme bowling performance helped England seal a much-needed victory against New Zealand at The Gabba, Brisbane. England bagged two crucial match points and scaled up to second place in the T20 World Cup 2022 Points Table.

Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by six wickets to keep their semi-final hopes alive. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to have a bat. Small contributions from every player at the top and middle order helped Afghanistan reach a total of 144 in 20 overs.

New Zealand lost wickets consistently while chasing the total set by the Englishmen. Their only surviving partnership came between Kane Williamson and Glenn Phillips who kept winning hopes alive. But, in the end, the Kiwis could only score 159 runs and lost the fixture by 20 runs.
