Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi posted a cryptic message following he was removed as the captain of the team. He took a subtle dig at Babar Azam and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)  amid all the fuss that is going around in the system. 

Shaheen Afridi was handed the captaincy of the Pakistan T20I team after Babar Azam was removed from the following poor outing in the ICC World Cup 2023. However, the pacer was given just one series to prove his worth as the captain of the team. 

Shaheen Afridi lost the T20I series by the margin of 4-1 against New Zealand. And recently was sacked as the captain of the team. In what was a shocking development the Pakistan Cricket Board reappointed Babar Azam as the captain of the team. 

There were reports that which claimed Shaheen Afridi was not at all happy with the way he was treated. The fast bowler reportedly has expressed disappointment with the lack of communication with the Pakistan Cricket Board. 

After Shaheen Afridi was removed as the skipper of the Pakistan team, PCB posted a press release in which they mentioned quotes from fast bowlers as well. The statement read that the fast bowler is keen to extend his support to Babar Azam and is willing to give his best for the team.

However, it was later learned that PCB had posted the message from Shaheen Afridi without even talking to him. This created even bigger controversy in Pakistan cricket. The team currently is training with the Army ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

With all the fuss going around Pakistan cricket, Shaheen Afridi came up with a cryptic post on social media. The fast bowler posted a video message, taking a dig at Babar Azam and the team, stating: 

“Never ever put me in a position where I have to show you how cruel and ruthless I can be. Don’t test my patience. Because I might be the kindest and sweetest person you’ve ever met, but once I reach my limit, you’ll see me do the things that no one thought I was capable of doing.”

Pakistan will be next seen in action when they host New Zealand for a five-match T20I series. The series will be played from 18th April.
