Punjab Kings (PBKS) IPL 2022 New Jersey Reveal: The Mayank Agarwal-spearheaded Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Thursday revealed their new look of the team jersey for the upcoming fifteenth edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise took it to social media to unveil their brand new jersey with a caption in Punjabi.

“Aa gaye ne assi, reveal karan layi saddi navi jersey! (We have arrived to reveal our new jersey!,” read the caption.

The franchise opted to go with the regular pattern of red and gold, as it was in the previous edition of the tournament. In the front middle, a lion pattern is finely blended in the red colour of the jersey.

Soon after revealing their kit, fans began reacting to it. There were mixed reactions with the franchise going ahead with a similar kind of jersey that they wore in the IPL 2021.

While some felt that keeping continuity in the jersey is good as it keeps them connected with the team, and appreciated the franchise, some reckoned that the designer should have put more effort to shape the jersey with some other patterns.

PBKS to face RCB in its opening match in IPL 2022:

Meanwhile, it is important to note that, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play its opening fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 27th in DY Patil Stadium. Both sides will have their new skippers leading the team for the very first time in the IPL 2022.

A couple of weeks ago, Punjab Kings (PBKS) appointed opener batsman Mayank Agarwal as their new leader of the pack sidelining the rumours of Shikhar Dhawan leading the team.

Agarwal was always the first choice player to be the captain of the side since the exit of KL Rahul, however, many people and even experts thought that the franchise might prefer experienced Shikhar Dhawan for that role.

The franchise did a decent job during the two-day IPL 2022 Auction to bring in quality players. The likes of Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar and Liam Livingstone were a couple of their top buys.
