GT vs PBKS saw Punjab losing their second game of IPL 2026.
Gujarat Titans continued their winning run in IPL 2026 as they won their third consecutive game of the season. They beat the Punjab Kings by four wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Put into bat, Punjab struggled to score big and managed just 167 for six, in response, Gujarat also struggled but managed to go past the total in the last over.
Punjab had a terrible start to their innings as they lost Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly in the first over itself. Captain Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh tried to bail their team out of trouble, but couldn’t as Punjab lost half of their side for just 47.
With the team under pressure, Suryansh Shedge (57) brought his team back in the game with a superb half-century. Marcus Stoinis (40) also supported him as the two put on 79 runs that put pressure back on Gujarat. Marco Jansen (20) then finished the innings on a decent note as Punjab posted 163 for nine.
Gujarat lost captain Shubman Gill early, but Sai Sudharsan (57) and Jos Buttler (26) ensured that Punjab didn’t take the momentum early on. Sudharsan-Buttler duo added 53 runs for the second wicket but Punjab bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals.
Sudharsan slammed a brilliant half-century and kept his team in the hunt, and till the time he was batting, Gujarat seemed to be moving towards an easy win. He lost his wicket in the 15th over, but then Gujarat’s hopes were on Washington Sundar (40*). The match went into the last over with 12 needed. Sundar along with Arshad Khan then held their nerves and took their team past the finishing line with one ball to spare.
