Points Table, Group A

T20 World Cup 2022 Semifinalist: If we look at the points table of Group A, New Zealand is on top of the points table with 3 match wins out of 5, while the net run rate of the Kiwis is better than the other five teams. New Zealand’s net run rate is +2.113. England is in the second position in the points table by winning 3 games out of 5 with a net run rate of +0.473. Unfortunately, the hosts Australia also won 3 out of 5 matches, yet could not qualify for the semi-finals as the current run rate of the Australian team was less than England. Australia’s run rate is -0.173 while England’s run rate is +0.473.

T20 World Cup 2022 Semifinalist: On the other hand, if we talk about Group B, so far all the teams have played four out of five matches, and all of them have to play one more match. The road to the semi-finals is open for four of the six teams. Let’s know-how

Note – All this scenario is possible only when South Africa loses its last match against the Netherlands. Well it’s practically impossible for the Netherlands to beat South Africa but cricket is a game of speculation, anything is possible here.

Qualification Scenario for Pakistan: If South Africa loses their last match against Netherlands and Pakistan wins its last match against Bangladesh, then in this condition Pakistan will qualify for the semi-final.

Qualification Scenario for Bangladesh: If South Africa loses their last match against the Netherlands and Bangladesh beat Pakistan by a huge margin then in this condition Bangladesh will qualify for the semi-final.

Qualification Scenario for South Africa: South Africa is second on the points table with 5 points due to two wins in 4 matches and one sharing point due to rain. If it rains in Africa’s next match, then also Africa will qualify for the semi-finals because Africa’s Net Run rate is Better than all other teams in the group.

Update: South Africa disqualified.
