A lot of disappointment and anger the whole of Pakistan would have been living with after losing an almost won World Cup match against India on 9th June. Their bowling was tight right from the start but Rishabh Pant managed to find runs. India were 89 for 3 down and then they saw a total collapse in the batting lineup. India got wrapped up under 119 runs in 19 overs.
Pakistan got a similar start as India and after reaching the 80-run mark in 14 overs, Pakistan started to lose control of the innings and the wickets started trembling apart and from a very good position, Pakistan then needed 18 runs off the last over. India won the contest by 6 runs but Pakistan could have won it if they had maintained their stance and aggression in the middle overs but Rizwan and a couple of players were too slow in the square.

They gave a chance to Saim Ayub there but he wasn't in a good knick so Pakistan went with the veteran duo in the opening combination; Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan. Pakistan have to go with Saim Ayub or they have got nothing left in this tournament. They are almost out of the tournament but there is a narrow path to escape. Saim Ayub can open with Muhammad Rizwan where Saim Ayub can play his naturally aggressive game to provide Pakistan with a brisk start. Rizwan can take his time at the other end to set things up.
Babar Azam should bat number 3 in place of Usman Khan which provides a better balance to the playing 11. Fakhar Zaman is good at number four. He will carry the momentum for the team in the middle overs.
Shadab Khan showed some right intent against USA and hopefully, he can play number 5 at a similar pace. Azam Khan should bat at 6 as he is a good basher of the ball and he has the power to smack the ball out of the park. Then comes Iftikhar Ahmed at number 7. Iftikhar is an excellent finisher and has that power game as well.
Now there are four spots left and Pakistan should stick with the four pacers Shaheen Shah, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir, and Haris Rauf. This playing 11 looks like a better side on paper and Pakistan management must take a look at it.
