Pakistan qualification scenario: Pakistan's Men's National Cricket Team suffered a heartbreaking defeat to fierce rivals India in their second game of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which was played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium of New York on Sunday. This defeat has hampered Pakistan's chances of qualifying for the Super 8 phase of the tournament.

The Green Shirts failed to chase down the target of 120 runs set by the below par batting display of the Indian Cricket Team as all of their star batters failed to get going on the tough batting pitch of New York.

With two back to back defeats in two games, Pakistan's road to qualifying for the Super 8 has become increasingly difficult as things are not in their hands anymore.

• 14th of June: Ireland vs USA - Ireland wins the game against USA
• 15th of June: India vs Canada - India wins the game against Canada
• 16th of June: Pakistan vs Ireland - Pakistan wins the game against Ireland

If all of these above-mentioned games end with these results, then Pakistan will end the group stage with four points in four games while India will have eight points. Co - hosts United States of America will end their group stage campaign with the same number of points as the Babar Azam-led team while Ireland and Canada will finish with two points each.

In such a scenario, the Indian Cricket Team will definitely qualify for the Super 8 phase and on the other hand, since Pakistan and USA will end the group stage with four points each then, the Net Run Rate (NRR) will decide the fate of both teams.
