Mumbai Indians replace injured Arshad Khan with Kumar Kartikeya Singh for the remainder of IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday signed Kumar Kartikeya Singh as the replacement for injured Mohammad Arshad Khan for the remainder of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen.
The left-arm spinner, Kumar Kartikeya Singh, represents Madhya Pradesh in the domestic circuit and has featured in 9 First-Class games, apart from 19 List A matches and 8 T20s throughout his career and has scalped 35, 18 and 9 wickets respectively.
Mumbai Indians confirmed the development with a social media post on Thursday. Notably, Mohammad Arshad Khan picked up an injury and was subsequently taken for scans, which ruled the cricketer out for the remainder of the Indian T20 league.
Kumar Kartikeya Singh will join Mumbai Indians at a base price of INR 20 Lakhs.
MI said that Kumar Kartikeya is consistently impressing everyone in the nets and his brilliant bowling skills have earned him a maiden contract to the main squad.
“Kartikeya is a slow left-arm bowler and has represented MP across all three formats of the game since making his debut in 2018. Kumar Kartikeya has been impressive in the nets and his learning trajectory on improving and fine-tuning his bowling skills have earned him the call up to the main squad,” said Mumbai Indians.
