Mumbai Indians probable to rope in Dhawal Kulkarni for the Tata IPL 2022: Floundering Mumbai Indians (MI) is reportedly keen on getting the services of experienced pacer Dhawal Kulkarni for the remainder of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen. The veteran pacer is currently a part of the Star Sports Hindi commentary team for the IPL 2022.

Notably, Kulkarni, 33, went unsold during the recent player auctions held in February. The pacer has scalped 86 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after playing for Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Lions.

He was bought by the five times IPL champions during the 2020 auctions for INR 75 Lakhs and remained part of the franchise in IPL 2021 as well. The speedster has also donned the India jersey in 12 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two T20Is in which he scalped 19 and 3 wickets respectively.

Mumbai Indians haven’t been performing adequately in the ongoing edition of the Tata IPL 2022. Having tasted defeat in the first six matches of the season, Mumbai Indians are currently sitting at the bottom of the points table

MI bowling has been a major concern this season. The bowlers have been easily whacked for big runs in crucial times which has been the main cause of Mumbai’s six successive upsets. Even Jasprit Bumrah has been hot and cold this season and hasn’t picked a lot of wickets for the team.

A source close to Mumbai Indians said that skipper Rohit Sharma is highly eager on adding Dhawal Kulkarni to the lineup for the rest of the Tata IPL 2022.

“MI skipper Rohit Sharma was keen on adding Kulkarni to strengthen their pace attack. Being from Mumbai, he’s aware of how to bowl in Mumbai and Pune, where IPL-15 is being held,” a source was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Mumbai Indians (MI) will face arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in what is called an El Clasico of the IPL. Both the top sides will lock horns in the DY Patil Stadium on April 21.
