Mumbai Indians (MI) 2026 Retained & Released Players, Purse Balance, Player Salary, Available Slots & Big Trades Updates Ahead of IPL 2026 Auction

The Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have officially announced their list of retained & released players ahead of IPL 2026 mini Auction. With the IPL 2026 Retention deadline now over, the Mumbai Indians have retained most of their key players, and they haven’t released any big player but Arjun Tendulkar after a long time left MI and traded to Lucknow Super Giants.

The Mumbai Indians have released nine players, but they still have only Rs. 2.75 crore in their purse. Arjun Tendulkar, Karn Sharma, Reece Topley, and Devon Jacobs are some of the key released players who had decent performances for MI in the last edition of the Indian Premier League.

MI finished at third position in the IPL 2025, and they have one of the best squads for the upcoming IPL season. However, they still have to fill some of the gaps, especially the spin department, after the release of quality spinners like Mujeeb ur Rahman and Karn Sharma. Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Tilak Verma are some of the key retained players.

Mumbai Indians have the lowest purse remaining amongs all franchises, they will enter IPL 2026 mini auction with a purse of Rs. 2.75 crore. However, MI have ticked most of the boxes and they need one quality spinner and will try to get some young talents as their ritual in every auction.

MI’s Big Trades and Transfer Updates:

The Mumbai Indians had three trades ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction. They traded Arjun Tendulkar to Lucknow Super Giants for Shardul Thakur. MI traded Sherfane Rutherford and Mayank Markande from the Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders in an all-cash deal.
