Mumbai Indians decided to bowl first after winning the toss. In response, the team of Kolkata Knight Riders scored 185 runs at the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Kolkata, Venkatesh Iyer scored 104 runs in 51 balls with the help of six fours and nine sixes.
Chasing the target of 186 runs, the team of Mumbai Indians changed the run at the loss of five wickets in just 17.4 overs. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan shared a 65-run partnership for the first wicket as an impact period for Mumbai. Rohit Sharma scored 20 runs in 13 balls with the help of one four and two sixes while Ishan Kishan scored 58 runs in 25 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes. Apart from him, Surya Kumar Yadav scored 43 runs in 25 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes.
With this win, Mumbai Indians have gained four points in the points table. Mumbai are at the eighth position in the points table after winning two out of four matches and losing two matches.
