IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap Updated on 21st April after DC vs KKR

IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Finally after a string of defeats Delhi Capitals (DC) has managed to get a win and take a sigh of relief after six matches in the ongoing Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. David Warner’s DC defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in yet another epic contest by four wickets to seal their maiden win of the season.

Although to the eyes the total of 128 runs looked scanty and below par, things got a lot difficult for the Capitals as spinners kept their hold in the game. KKR spinners bowled 16 overs continuously to keep check of the DC batters and it worked for the KKR. In the middle phase, the spin trio of Varun Chakravarthy, Nitish Rana and Anukul Roy picked two wickets apiece.

DC skipper David Warner was once again amongst runs as he scored another half-century. But Barring Warner, no other batter could get going against KKR. The batting collapse has been a major issue for DC as of now. At one moment, DC was cruising comfortably to fetch the total, but as it panned out continuous fall of wicket made things quite difficult for them.

In the end, DC managed to go off the mark in the IPL 2023, thanks to Axar Patel, who held his nerves after getting a couple of lives.

Earlier in the innings, KKR also saw a mess as they lost wickets in the cluster against Delhi’s bowling unit. Barring Jason Roy and Andre Russell, no other batter scored more than 15 runs. Roy, who was brought into the side in this game only, scored 43 runs while Russell gave the final push to the innings with his 38 runs.
