After opting to bowl first, Mumbai Indians (MI) bowlers managed to provide an initial breakthrough in just three overs, however, collective hitting by Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran and Priyam Garg blew Mumbai away. Rahul Tripathi was highly exceptional as he whacked 76 runs from 44 deliveries and helped SRH post a total of 193 in 20 overs.

In pursuit of a high total, Mumbai were off to a solid start with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan doing the early damage. A rare initial movement this season from the bat of two Mumbai openers kept them in the game until the very last moment.

Rohit Sharma fell two shy of his half-century while Ishan Kishan was denied the 50 runs milestone by seven runs. Following the dismissal of the openers, Mumbai’s middle-order collapsed and the franchise was reduced to 144-5.

Tim David almost played a blinder (46 off 18) with his sensational six-hitting abilities, however, an unfortunate run-out sent him to the dugout before finishing the game. In the final over Mumbai required 18 runs, but could get only 15 and lost the game by three runs.
