IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) convincingly destroyed Mumbai Indians (MI) by 52 runs in match number 56 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) in the DY Patil Stadium, last night.

After being forced to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were off to a flier. Openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane provided a solid opening stand and maintained a run rate of 10 per over throughout. The team in purple were cruising nicely until the 12th over.

However, Mumbai Indians returned back on track following Jasprit Bumrah’s magical spell. The pace spearhead scalped five wickets in no time and pushed KKR to the backfoot. Shreyas Iyer and Co could only score 165 runs in 20 overs despite getting a fabulous start.

Mumbai Indians (MI) kicked off their innings with the wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma. Though it was a controversial umpiring decision, however, a dismissal is a dismissal. Ishan Kishan looked in good touch but failed to receive support from another end.

Kishan scored 51 runs in 43 deliveries and was the only lone performer in the batting lineup. KKR bowled out Mumbai Indians in just 113 runs and sealed the game for themselves by 52 runs.
