IPL 2022: 3 Players Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might retain in IPL 2022 Mega Auction

IPL 2021: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to part ways with Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav.

IPL 2021: The Shah Rukh owned franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) failed to make it to the playoffs in the last two seasons of the cash-rich league. Despite having some of the prominent names in the bench, KKR was not able to qualify for the business end of the tournament.

With the BCCI asking the franchises to free up the players by January 20, KKR is likely to take some big steps for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

As per the sources from KKR, the franchise is likely to part ways with Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav.

If this happens, KKR will free up a massive 13.2 Crores, Dinesh Karthik (7.2 Crores) and Kuldeep Yadav (5.8 Crores).

Karthik and Kuldeep to lose their contracts:

“KKR already has Tom Banton, talented Nikhil Naik as wicket-keeping options in the squad. The team may continue with them and will let go off other options”, said one of the sources close to team management of KKR.

Dinesh Karthik failed to make an impact with both batting and captaining the side. Karthik pulled himself from the captaincy in the mid of the tournament which was not a good sign for the cirkceter.

China-men bowler Kuldeep Yadav will be the second one to lose his contract as the spinner failed to pick up wickets in the given chances. With KKR having Varun Chakravarthy as the lead spinner, it is likely that Kuldeep Yadav will be sent to the auction pool.

However, according to some reports, the Kolkata based franchise is planning to make SHbman Gill as the captain of the side. Gill who has recently got his test cap is showing some promising signs for the future is soon to lead Kolkata Knight Riders.
