Looking like one of the significant sides to reach the playoffs but later on, slipped from the position. Midway change of the captaincy looked a bit unusual for the franchise as Dinesh Karthik stepped down.

The Shahrukh Khan franchise could not found the way to select the perfect eleven throughout the seasons even after a lot of chopping and shuffling. For the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League just 4 months away, KKR will be hoping to purchase some of the match winners for the side, in the meantime releasing some of the existing players.

Here we brought to you the 5 players whom KKR might look to release ahead of IPL 2021.

The young addition to the team for IPL 2020, Chris Green is one of those names who won several white ball franchise captaincy through his calm and responsible style game. However, the Australian spinner could not make a valuable impact though he was given just a solitary chance against the defending champions.

Green in his only appearance in IPL 2020 conceded 24 runs. To break into the final eleven for the upcoming IPL is also going to be tough for the Australian against the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy.

Dinesh Karthik:

Not an ideal season to experience for the former KKR skipper. He became the captain of KKR after the exit of Gautam Gambhir. Filling the shoes of two times title winner was not going to be easy but he did exceptionally good work in the first season. The next two seasons were not according to the standards of KKR.

Citing “to focus in his batting,” Karthik stepped down from his captaincy, the official reason is yet to be revealed. Dinesh Karthik had a horrible thirteenth edition of IPL with the bat scoring just 169 in 14 outings.

Siddesh Lad:

KKR went with the likes of Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi for the opening slot ahead of Siddesh Lad.

Lad before with Mumbai Indians had an only single outing where he scored 15 runs. In the upcoming season to it will unfortunate for the opener to get into the side before the likes of Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana, Tom Banton, and Sunil Narine.

This name might surprise you in the list of probable release players. Yadav does not have a solid reason to stay back with the franchise. Although he is not given that many chances for the side to perform. In the 2020 season of IPL, Yadav got 5 outings and picked just one scalp.

With the likes of Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine Shahrukh Khan-owned franchise might release the chinaman bowler ahead of IPL.

Tom Banton:

The English all-rounder was praised to have some instincts of former Kevin Peterson could not manage to create much impact with the performance. After a much-hyped entry in IPL 2020, Tom was picked in two games, both against Royal Challenger Bangalore, and scored just 18 runs for his side.

Unfortunately, this will not be enough to impress the management to hold him back with the side. Having the services of Andree Russell and Sunil Narine, KKR might release the English all-rounder ahead of IPL 2021.
