The team locked with the big names of Indian domestic and overseas players, Mumbai Indians will walk to the auction with a purse value of 15.25 crores.

Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians have released 7 players and will have to fill the slots with the like to like replacement. All the departments of Mumbai Indians have been in its peak but there will be some loopholes that can trouble the franchise in the latter half of the cash-rich league.

Here we will discuss 3 players Mumbai Indians might target in IPL 2021 mini-auctions.

3 Players Mumbai Indians might target in IPL 2021 mini-auctions:

Mitchell Starc:

The left-arm Aussie pacer will be one of the priorities of the franchise in IPL 2021. The franchise has released the likes of James Pattinson and Nathan Coulter Nile but they will require an overseas pacer to form a solid pace attack along with Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult.

Mitchell Starc will make his return to IPL after six long years. The speedster has featured in 27 IPL games and picked up 34 scalps with an average of 20.

MI franchise can invest 10 crores in the pacer as there is not much need of other players in the squad.

Pawan Negi:

The franchise can look for the back-up option for Krunal Pandya. Pawan Negi will be under the scanner of MI franchise. Negi who is experienced and talented can fill the place of senior Pandya.

In 2018, Negi joined Mumbai Indians for 1 crore but the bowler was taken back by Virat Kohli led RCB using Right to match card (RTM).

Jhye Richardson:

The absence of the Aussie pacer from IPL has been surprising, however, this time the pacer looks all set to make his comeback. The right-arm pacer debuted for Australia against India back in 2019.

Richardson is in the form of his life, having picked 26 scalps in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL). The glorious performance in BBL is sure to give him a break in IPL.

Mumbai Indians who will be searching for a pacer can bid for him as well to make a strong pace attack. In the absence of Lasith Malinga, it will be important for the management to acquire the quality pacer.
