India VS Western Australia
The dillema still remains!

The Indian cricket team began its campaign for the ICC T20 World Cup with the India VS Western Australia practice game. There wasn’t much thrill about the game as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were rested but with that being said, there were many things to look forward to. India tried to open with Rishabh Pant. Also, the bowlers have rotated around very well. Here is an in-depth look:

India VS Western Australia, 1st Innings:

The toss was won by India and they decided to bat first. The Indian team wanted to try something new like they always do and they opened with Rishabh Pant. That move didn’t turn out very fruitful as Rishabh perished early. Deepak Hooda and Rohit Sharma were also struggling. Rohit was the first one to fall, then Deepak took charge. He scored a well-settled, 22 before getting out to Jason Behrendorff. India was at 28-2 when Surya walked in.

Hardik and Surya took the game deep. Dinesh Karthik was struggling yesterday with his timing. He wasn’t able to time the shots to perfection. Surya was the lone warrior for India. He scored a beautiful 50! India ended with a respectable 158/6 off their 20 overs.

Brief Scores:

India 158/6 off 20 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav: 52 runs off 35 balls.

Hardik Pandya: 27 runs off 20 balls.

Jason Behrendorff: 26/2 off 4 overs.

India VS Western Australia, 2nd Innings:

The second innings saw the Indian bowlers dominate and stay on top as always. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh started making the ball talk. The ball was swinging left to right. This put the Australians in a spot of bother. Their top 4 departed with single-digit scores to their name. The Australians were 12-4. Cameron Bancroft and Sam Fanning ensured damage control before Bancroft fell with 57 on the board. Chahal bowled very well too. He bowled at an economy of 3.8! Western Australia never looked in the game with the bat. At a point, it was just them trying to get over the 20 overs. Sam Fanning did get them to a respectable score of 145/8.

Brief Scores:

145/8 off 20 overs. India wins by 13 runs.

Sam Fanning: 59 runs off 53 balls.

Arshdeep Singh: 3/6.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/26.
