IND vs SA: India is currently locking horns with South Africa in the T20I series. After that, they will be playing each other in the ODI series, from 17th December. The tour will conclude with a two-match Test series, to be played from 26th December to 7th January. It’ll be an exciting series to watch as both the teams have some quality players in the rank and would be looking to make a great impact. 

IND vs SA: KL Rahul to keep wickets for India in Tests; in talks with LSG management about batting in middle order in IPL

After the T20I series, the focus will be turning towards the ODI series. KL Rahul will be captaining the team in the 50-over format and will be crucial for his team in the three games. He was in a staggering form in the ODI World Cup 2023 both with gloves and the bat. 

KL Rahul’s impressive show with the gloves in the ICC World Cup 2023 made BCCI name him as keeper for IND vs SA ODI as well as the Test series. While it wasn’t a surprise in the 50-over format, his keeping in Tests was a surprise for many.

Along with him, Ishan Kishan is another keeper in the Indian squad. But the reports in Cricbuzz have suggested that KL Rahul will be keeping wickets in the IND vs SA Tests. He’s likely to get a nod ahead and will be batting in the middle order. Rahul notably has been an opening batter and has batted at the top most of the times in his career. 

The receptors also suggested that KL Rahul will not be keeping wickets in the IND vs SA ODI series. This might be well to manage his workload ahead of Tests because this will be for the first time that he will be keeping for India in the longest format of the game.

The reports in Cricbuzz also suggested that KL Rahul is in talks with Lucknow Super Giants about batting in the middle order in IPL 2024. The batter has been captaining the side for two years and has been opening the batting. 

KL Rahul has had a huge success as an opener in the IPL. But with LSG having some quality openers in the ranks, the captain might have to sacrifice his place. It remains to be seen at what position he will bat at in the upcoming IPL 2024.
