IND vs AUS: List of all records shattered by Virat Kohli after his 74 against Australia in Sydney
The Indian Cricket Team finally made a comeback after registering two back-to-back losses in the first two games. They beat the Australian Cricket Team by nine wickets in the third ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney (SCG) to avoid the whitewash. Opting to bat, Australia got all out for 236, which India made fun of and chased with over 11 overs to spare.
Australia had a great opening stand with Mitchell Marsh (41) and Travis Head (29:25b, 6x4) going great guns for their 61-run stand. However, both perished inside 16 overs. Matthew Short (30), at three, played a great hand, but couldn’t carry on.
The hero of the innings was Matt Renshaw (56) as he was the only batter to score a fifty. Alex Carey (24) and Cooper Connolly (23:34b, 2x4) also contributed but Australia couldn’t score big as they got all out for 236. Harshit Rana was the pick of the bowlers with his four-fer.
India had a solid start in the chase with Rohit Sharma (121*) and Shubman Gill (24:26b, 2x4, 1x6) adding 69 runs for the opening wicket. After the captain got out, the SCG witnessed the iconic RoKo partnership.
Virat Kohli (74*), who bagged two ducks in the last two games, made a solid comeback, hitting a solid fifty. Rohit, on the other hand, hit a sensational ton as the duo added an unbeaten 168 runs to take India home with nine wickets in hand.
