ICC T20 World Cup 2021: The winners of the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to get a handsome sum of USD 1.6 Million (approx, INR 12 Crores), says the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday as it reveals the total prize pool for the mega cricket event.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in the UAE and Oman, starting October 17. All the participating 16 teams will get a part of the USD 5.6 Million allotted for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as a cash prize.

“The two losing semi-finalists will receive USD 400,000 each from the games taking place on November 10 and 11,” the ICC said in its official release. 

As in 2016, there will be a bonus amount for every match that teams win in the Super 12 stage. The victors in each of the 30 games in that phase will this time win $40,000, a total pot of $1,200,000,” it added.

The top eight ICC ranked T20I teams will begin their campaign directly from the Super 12s round. The eight teams include India, Pakistan, Australia, England, West Indies, New Zealand, South Africa and Afghanistan.

A total of eight teams will participate in the first round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 which include Bangladesh, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland, Oman, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, and Sri Lanka.

As per the ICC, each win for a team will fetch them $40,000 during the Super 12s round as well as in the first round. Each team that will get eliminated in the Super 12s round will get $70,000 each while teams getting knocked out in the first round will get $40,000 each.

“The eight teams whose ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaigns end at that stage will automatically receive $70,000 each, totally $560,000. The same structure is in place for the first-round victories – with $40,000 available to those who win each of the 12 games, amounting to $480,000. The four teams knocked out in the first round will take $40,000 each from an overall $ 160,000,” said the ICC release.

Moreover, the ICC also introduced two drinks break in between a match which will last for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The breaks will be taken during the mid of each inning.
