The Indian Cricket Team for the T20 World Cup 2021 is the current talk of the town. From the surprise selection of experienced campaigner Ravichandran Ashwin to the exclusion of Shreyas Iyer, several things raised the eyebrows. The latest development to this team is the addition of net bowlers. The team requires good net bowlers. There is a possibility that Umran Malik from the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Harshal Patel, the current purple cap holder from Royal Challengers Bangalore will be added. Also, there are a few concerns on Varun Chakravarthy’s fitness: –
Umran Malik and Harshal Patel To Be Added As Net Bowlers: –
Being a net bowler in the Indian Cricket Team is one thing that can change the dynamics of a player’s career. Be it, Natarajan, on the Australia Tour in 2020-21, who later debuted in all three formats in absence of key players, or Sandeep Warrier on the Sri Lanka Tour in 2021. The latest possible addition to the Indian net bowlers for the T20 World Cup 2021 is Umran Malik and Harshal Patel.
Harshal Patel is the current purple cap holder in the IPL. He has picked 30 wickets in the IPL 2021. He has been the best death bowler with a mix of smart slower ones and cutters. Harshal Patel and his hattrick against the Mumbai Indians is one that a cricket fan can never forget. According to several cricket analysts, he has been the best bowler in the league.
Umran Malik is having a dream year this season. He was initially the net bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad and after the failure of all the Indian options for SRH, he was finally drafted to the main squad. And Umran made sure he makes a mark. He is the bowler to ball the quickest delivery this season clocking 153 kmph! A duplicate of the prime Waqar Younis, Umran can be a strike force if he is groomed well and has his head on the shoulders.
Concern Over Varun Chakravathy’s Fitness: –
Varun Chakravarthy is another name that asks the fans to give a second thought. Varun if picked in the final 15 which is supposed to be announced today (10th October), he finds a direct place in the 11. One cannot ignore the fact that Varun has been in star-studded form lately and he is an asset to the team. The concern is over his knee injuries. Varun has been taking a lot of pressure on his knees from the start of the season. His mystery spinning abilities are second to none.
If Varun misses out (which seems a rare scenario now) Yuzi Chahal is the best option to replace him. The team has chosen the lesser-known Rahul Chahar over the experienced and better-known Yuzi Chahal. Yuzvendra Chahal has made the most of the dry UAE pitches and has done well with RCB. On the other hand, Rahul Chahar was unfortunately dropped from the Mumbai Indians squad as well. Now it is up to the selectors on which of the 3 spinners will be finalized.
