ICC launches anthem for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021.

International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday released the official anthem for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 along with a campaign film with avatars of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard. 

The showpiece ICC event will commence 17th October onwards in the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The final of the tournament is set to be played out on 14th November.

The newly released T20 World Cup anthem is composed by Bollywood music director Amit Trivedi. The video film released along with the anthem features cricket fans from all around the world.

“Let the world know,

This is your show 

Come #LiveTheGame and groove to the  #T20WorldCup anthem,” wrote ICC on its tweet as it released the official T20 anthem on Thursday.

The likes of Virat Kohli, reigning champion West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard, Glenn Maxwell and Rashid Khan have featured in the animated video released by the ICC.

The T20 World Cup 2021 will be ICC’s first megaevent since the covid-19 pandemic where as many as 16 teams will participate to lift the coveted T20I trophy and becomes the T20 champions.

The qualifiers will be held in the first few opening days of the World Cup where teams like Oman, Netherlands, PNG, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will clash to get a berth in the Super 12s joining the top eight ICC ranked teams.

The tournament will get interesting as the top teams will begin their campaign in the league on 23rd October. Team India will open its account as the ‘Men in Blue’ will square off against Pakistan on 24th October.
