Vivo IPL 2021: Senior wicketkeeping batsman Dinesh Karthik has left the commentary panel of the ongoing India vs England test series and has left the United Kingdom on Thursday. The KKR player will soon join his KKR mates in the UAE following his landing in the Gulf nation.

Karthik is part of Kolkata’s current squad as the senior wicketkeeper-batsman. He has been part of the squad for a long time now and will be soon seen donning the KKR jersey in the second phase of the IPL 2021, which is scheduled in the UAE from 19th September onwards.

The Indian veteran cricketer was extensively hailed for his apt commentary in the recently held ICC World Test Championship final and ongoing India vs England test series. Karthik made his commentary debut in the WTC final between New Zealand and India and got huge appreciation from the viewers. 

The talented glovesman informed his fans and supporters through a social media post. His IPL franchise, KKR, also shared the image of him leaving for the UAE from the United Kingdom after having a successful debut as a commentator.

Dinesh Karthik didn’t have a perfect outing in the first half of the IPL 2021. He only managed to score 123 runs at a decent average of 30.75 and a strike rate of 138.20. There will be a huge onus on the cricketer to stage a power-packed comeback after an average outing in the first half. 

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also had a drastic outing in the first half of the IPL 2021. The team played poor sports where they slipped off from a near win. Eoin Morgan and Co. won just two matches out of seven in the first seven matches and are placed seventh in the points table.
