The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals is gearing up for the Tata IPL 2022, which begins on March 26. DC will play out its first match against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI), a day after the IPL 2022 opener.

The preparations are in full swing as not more than a fortnight is left for the start of the lucrative and extravagant Indian T20 league.

The Colaba Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) and has arrested five people connected with the case. Reportedly, five people of Navnirman Sena, Maharashtra were arrested for vandalising the IPL team bus near the five-star hotel in South Mumbai.

As further protection, security was beefed up near the Hotel Taj Mahal following the incident.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, the runner-up of the IPL 2020, have welcomed Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel into the team’s bio-bubble. The two abovementioned players have joined their IPL squad after completing national duties against Sri Lanka.

Further, DC has also roped in former Aussie cricketer Shane Watson as an assistant coach for the IPL 2022. The dashing batter will join the Capital’s force and work closely along with his compatriot Ricky Ponting and James Hope.
