Deepak Chahar to be available from Mid April for Tata IPL 2022: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) elite pacer Deepak Chahar has offered encouraging news for his franchise ahead of the Tata IPL 2022. The speedster will be available to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he won’t be undergoing any surgery as of now.

The pacer was grabbed by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by spending a whopping sum of INR 14 Crores during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Interestingly, CSK had never spent more than INR 10 Crores ever for any player during the auction, however, Deepak Chahar’s services tempted the franchise to break its bank in the IPL 2022.

Deepak Chahar had earlier sustained a quadricep injury during the final T20I against West Indies due to which he was ruled out of the subsequent series against Sri Lanka. The seamer was also deemed doubtful for the IPL 2022, however, with recent reports Chahar is likely to return to action from Mid April.

He is currently undergoing an intense eight weeks rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore. CSK wants the pacer to attend a training programme in Surat. The yellow management wants to monitor Deepak Chahar’s fitness and progress by itself.

Earlier, following initial MRI scans, it was calculated that Deepak Chahar should undergo surgery to correct his injury, but this will diminish his chances to play the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

With such a marquee event lined up ahead in the year, the Rajasthan pacer doesn’t want to risk his place in the team by going under the knife.

Following deliberations and consultations, it was later confirmed that Chahar, for now, would undergo an eight weeks rehab programme, and not surgery, that will ensure his IPL and T20 World Cup participation.

It’s noteworthy that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have begun training in Surat, Gujarat for the upcoming fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Skipper MS Dhoni along with several young domestic cricketers are undergoing their preparation in the camps.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play out the TATA IPL 2022 opener against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 26 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
