Shreyas Iyer RULED OUT of IPL 2023 and WTC final

Shreyas Iyer ruled out of IPL 2023 and WTC final: Star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer is set to miss the entirety of the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final and the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023season owing to a back injury, which is a major setback for both the Indian Cricket Team and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

According to rumors, Iyer has decided to have surgery for his back injury and will be out of action for three months. Iyer has had a back injury for a considerable amount of time. Prior to being forced to withdraw from the last Test match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, he missed a limited-overs tournament in December of last year against Bangladesh due to injury. He was then excluded from the three-match ODI series against the Steve Smith-led team at home.

After consulting with medical professionals, Iyer was subsequently eliminated from the first half of the IPL. Even though the Knight Riders had anticipated he would be back for the second half of the season, it has come to light that he is not being allowed to train at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, where he is undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of the BCCI’s medical team.

Meanwhile, KKR has named Nitish Rana as the new skipper in Shreyas Iyer’s place, and the squad will be trying to capitalize on home conditions when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next IPL 2023 encounter on Thursday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In a previous match last week in Mohali that was interrupted due to weather, KKR lost to Punjab Kings by a margin of seven runs by the DLS method.
